American cable and satellite television network HBO just released a trailer that offers fans a first look at the new cast for the second season of television series True Detective, reported TV.com.

The minute-long tease reveals a stellar cast line-up of Hollywood stalwarts Rachel McAdams, Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell. It does not offer any dialogue or reveal plot details, instead presenting a series of intense, silent clips to a somber tune.

HBO will air the first episode on Sunday, June 21.

The new season of the series is set in California and tells the story of a murder that brings together law enforcement and a career criminal, played by Vaughn.

True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto penned all eight episodes of the show's second season, while Justin Lin (of Fast & Furious 6) directed the first two.

HBO has yet to reveal the directors of the remaining six episodes, reported rollingstone.com
