Ten readers of The Straits Times and their guests will be picked to visit the National Gallery Singapore in style on Monday, about two weeks before it opens to the public on Nov 24.
As part of their visit to the new visual arts museum, they will enjoy a free cocktail at the Sky Lounge and a three-course Italian dinner worth $260 a person at Aura. The dinner at the Italian fine-dining restaurant operated by ilLido Group, will be hosted by Straits Times food critic Wong Ah Yoke.
The event is part of the newspaper's 170th anniversary celebrations this year, which has seen almost 300 readers winning treats since February, including tickets to a Taylor Swift concert in London, trips for two to the Maldives and a Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Mr Wong says: "It's always a good opportunity to meet and interact with readers as you don't get to meet them face to face. It's also great to see the readers warm up and have fun as the dinner goes on."
The deadline to enter the contest for the Gallery visit and dinner is tomorrow at noon. Readers may go to the website 1845.straitstimes.com to answer a question and stand a chance to win the latest round of ST170 treats.
The Gallery will display Singapore and South-east Asian art from the 19th century to the present day, presenting the development of Singapore and regional cultures to tell their social, economic and political histories.
Ms Lyla Lin, sales and marketing manager at Aura at the Gallery, says: "We feel honoured and excited to be a part of a great milestone for The Straits Times celebrating its 170th year."
