The erotic drama Fifty Shades Of Grey, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by British author E.L James, will open in theatres here on Thursday with no cuts.
The film, which follows the sexual adventures of business tycoon Christian Grey and his seduction of college graduate Anastasia Steele, has been given an R21-rating for mature theme and sexual scenes.
The novel and film are notable for its erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage, dominance and submission and sado-masochism.
The film will screen 20 minutes of lovemaking between Grey, played by British actor Jamie Dornan, and Steele, played by actress Melanie Griffith's daughter Dakota Johnson, Agence France-Presse reported.
Ms Eve Ang, 34, who has read the novel and the next two books in the series, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, hopes to get tickets for the show this Thursday or the weekend.
The IT manager says: "I'm surprised that the film has no cuts. The book is racy, and the first in the series is the sexiest. I'm so curious what details get in."
Advertising creative Daniel Foo, 30, thinks the film is "mainstream drivel dressed up as intelligent".
Even with the film receiving no cuts here, Mr Foo says: "I know for sure that Secretary will be better." He is referring to a 2002 erotic romance film directed by Steven Shainberg, which also deals with sado-masochism.
In the United States and Canada, Fifty Shades Of Grey opens in time for the Valentine's Day weekend.
Almost half of the ticket pre-sales in the United States were from fans below the age of 30, of which two-thirds were women, according to data from Movio, which tracks about 30 million consumers for cinemas, studios and distributors, reported Bloomberg.
