LOS ANGELES - Disney Animation has shelved Gigantic, an adaptation of Jack And The Beanstalk that was to feature music by the the Frozen songwriters.

"Sometimes, no matter how much we love an idea or how much heart goes into it, we find that it just isn't working," Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios president Ed Catmull was quoted as saying by Variety website. "With Gigantic, we've come to that point, and although it's a difficult decision, we are ending active development for now."

The project was being developed as an update on the fairy tale, in which Jack befriends a female giant, said The Hollywood Reporter.

It had been announced in 2015 with Nathan Greno (Tangled) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) directing. Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the husband and wife who wrote Let It Go, the Oscar-winning song from the soundtrack of Frozen (2013), were to have written music for Gigantic.
