HOLLYWOOD - Chinese stars Vicki Zhao and Huang Xiaoming were in Hollywood on Wednesday to leave their prints at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX.

With them to drop his prints in the wet cement at the forecourt and to celebrate the iconic movie house's 88th anniversary was American director Justin Lin.

Taiwan-born Lin, who directed four Fast & Furious movies, has a new movie out in China on June 26 and it stars Huang and Zhao.

The comedy, entitled Hollywood Adventures, is shot in Mandarin.

"I am very proud to be the first ever Chinese actress to leave my handprint and footprint here and I hope in the future I could come here and look at my own hand and foot prints every year," Zhao, 39, said.

"Fifteen years ago I attended the Beijing Film Academy with Vicki. Fifteen years later, I am standing here with her. I'm very happy," said Huang, 37.

"It's an amazing adventure for us to be here. I feel very lucky to be the first actor from the Chinese mainland who leaves a handprint here," he added.

Also at Wednesday's ceremony were Fast & Furious stars Vin Diesel and Jordana Brewster and rapper MC Hammer.

"In the 88 years of history of the TCL Chinese Theatre handprint ceremony, there have been 175 honorees. Among them, 21 are from the non-English speaking world and there had been three Chinese honorees," said Bruno Zheng Wu, chairman of Sun Seven Stars Entertainment and Media Group.

Previously honoured at the theatre's imprint ceremonies were Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan and director John Woo, as well as Chinese director Feng Xiaogang.

Formerly Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the theatre was renamed in 2013 after China's TCL Corporation purchased the naming rights.
