BEIJING • Actor Wang Baoqiang filed for divorce in a Beijing court on Monday, a day after he said he was firing his agent for having an affair with his wife.

He sought custody of the couple's six-year-old son and five-year-old daughter, and child support payments from his wife Ma Rong until their children are 18, said Chinese reports.

In his filing, he said his marriage broke down after Ma not only had an improper sexual relationship with his agent Song Zhe, but also hid and transferred the couple's joint assets.

He asked the court to divide those assets, which include nine housing units (one of which is in Los Angeles), a BMW car and various luxury goods by brands from Hermes to Tiffany, said the reports.

In his filing, Wang, 32, said he married Ma, 30, in China in 2010. But in his statement about the divorce on Weibo, posted after midnight on Sunday, he said they had been married since 2009.

His estranged wife has responded obliquely to his allegations. A post on her Weibo page on Sunday afternoon read : "Trying to cover up the truth only makes it more glaring. The truth about good and evil will be told when the time is right."
