The Boss rules US box office

The Boss, a slapstick comedy widely panned by critics and starring Melissa McCarthy, ruled the North American box office for its opening weekend, edging out blockbuster Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Despite withering reviews, it took US$23.5 million (S$31.6 million) for the weekend, according to estimates from industry tracker Exhibitor Relations. It edged out the superheroes, who had ruled the box office for the past two weeks.

Drake to launch album on April 29

Drake, one of the most successful rappers of the moment even without full-fledged albums, has announced that his long-awaited Views From The 6 will be out on April 29. He has indicated that Beyonce will be among the guest stars on the album, his first studio album since 2013.

On Twitter, he posted a preview video that features his hometown Toronto. The album title apparently refers to the city, which in 1998 incorporated six separate municipalities into a mega-city much studied by urban planners.
