Spring Wave music festival cancelled

Due to the "worsening and persistent haze situation", the organiser of the music festival Spring Wave 2015 has cancelled the event that had been scheduled to take place on Oct 10 at Fort Canning Green. The health and safety of concertgoers, artists including rockers Luantan-Ascent, Wu Bai and Chang Chen-yue, partners and staff was of the "utmost priority", said the organiser Friendly Dog Entertainment. Those who have purchased tickets for Spring Wave 2015 can get in touch with ticketing agents such as Sistic for refunds. The organiser had tried to look for an alternative venue, but was unable to find a suitable indoor location.


Kendrick Lamar to make orchestra debut

Kendrick Lamar, one of the most respected young rappers, will make his classical debut in a performance with the National Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra in Washington announced on Monday that the NSO Pops would perform selections of Lamar's latest album, To Pimp A Butterfly, with him on Oct 20.


Dismaland to go to Calais migrant camp

Timber and fixtures from Banksy's theme park Dismaland in western England will be sent to build shelters at an informal migrant camp in Calais, northern France, the elusive street artist said on his website.
