Rihanna's tour kicks off on Feb 26

Rihanna will open a global tour on Feb 26 in San Diego, performing in North America and Europe before ending on Aug 12 in Zurich, promoter Live Nation said. The 27-year-old singer has formed a partnership with electronics giant Samsung, which has launched an interactive website for her new album Anti, accessible only on its smartphones.

Dress in Oz film sold for $2.2m

The blue gingham dress worn by Judy Garland in the 1939 movie The Wizard Of Oz sold for US$1.56 million (S$2.2 million) at a Bonhams auction in New York on Monday. One of two pinafores she wore on screen, it was sold to an unidentified buyer bidding by telephone.

The Cure to tour Europe

Dark rock legends The Cure on Monday announced their first extensive tour of Europe since 2008, following dates across North America announced earlier. The European leg opens on Oct 7 in Helsinki and ends on Dec 1 next year in London. It marks the English band's return after a comparatively quiet two years.
