Polanski's victim asks to drop case

The woman at the centre of the 40-year-old sexual abuse case against director Roman Polanski, 83, asked a Los Angeles County judge last Friday to end the legal proceedings in the case.

"I would implore you to do this for me, out of mercy for myself," Ms Samantha Geimer, now 54, told Judge Scott M. Gordon. "Your words mean a lot to this court," he told her. He did not say when he would issue a ruling.

Grasshopper singers injured

Grasshopper singing brothers Calvin and Remus Choy, both 52, were among nine people injured when a stage collapsed in a rehearsal before a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum last Friday, said reports.

Calvin injured his tailbone and did not perform at the showcase of lyricist Andrew Lam's songs. Remus, who was slightly injured, sang solo. Calvin said on social media later that he had seen a doctor and would "recover soon".
