Popular Taiwanese rockers Mayday will perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Aug 5 and 6. VIP tickets costing $288 are available from SportsHubTix from Friday, while those priced from $118 to $288 are available from Saturday.

Angry Birds film tops China box office

The Angry Birds Movie topped the box office in China, generating the biggest weekend sales for an animated film in the world's second- largest movie market since January. The cartoon, based on Finnish video game-maker Rovio's 2009 mobile game, brought in 195.3 million yuan (S$41 million) in ticket sales through Sunday since debuting last Friday, data compiled by EntGroup Inc showed. The film is also No. 1 at the box office in the United States and Canada, where it collected US$39 million (S$53.8 million) over the weekend.
