Buzzing: Lock of Bowie's hair on auction

Lock of Bowie's hair on auction

A small lock of David Bowie's hair is being auctioned in California and is expected to fetch upwards of US$4,000 (S$5,369).

Heritage Auctions said the snippet of the late singer's pale blond hair, tied with blue thread, came from a former employee of the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London.

The woman was tasked with recreating Bowie's 1983-era hairdo for his wax figure at the museum and kept the lock as a souvenir.

The hair will go on the block on Saturday as part of an auction in Beverly Hills and has so far attracted a bid of US$2,000.
