Hollywood stars at Tokyo film festival

The 28th annual Tokyo International Film Festival kicked off on Thursday with Hollywood celebrities such as Hilary Swank and Helen Mirren walking the red carpet at the Roppongi Hills complex, the main venue for the 10-day event. They were joined by Robert Zemeckis, director of opening film, The Walk, jury president Bryan Singer and Beasts Of No Nation director Cary Fukunaga.

Actress Sola Aoi of Japan, Taiwan actor Alec Su and Hong Kong director Dante Lam also turned up.


New Elton John album in the works

Elton John, 68, has announced his first album in nearly three years, on which the pop legend reunites with long-time backup artists.

Wonderful Crazy Night, his 33rd studio album, will be out on Feb 5. A song from the album, Looking Up, was released for fans who pre-order the album. The album marks a reunion with original drummer Nigel Olsson and guitarist Davey Johnstone.


Mr Con & Ms Csi show ends in December

Television hosts Kevin Tsai and Dee Hsu will tape the finale of their talk show, Mr Con & Ms Csi, on Nov 25 and it is to air on the week of Dec 22, reported China Times.

Producer Lee Kuo-chiang said there are plans to invite the 100 celebrities who had graced the show in the past to appear in the finale.
