Fan Bingbing to sue over lewd photo

Chinese actress Fan Bingbing threatened legal action yesterday over a Photoshopped obscene image of her, said NetEase website. A photo of her at a press conference for her 2013 movie One Night Surprise was changed to make it look like she was groping a Caucasian male. Her company said the image "caused serious damage to Fan Bingbing's reputation" and asked "relevant parties" to stop disseminating it.


Weiland died from mixed drug toxicity

Rock singer Scott Weiland's death in a tour bus in a Minneapolis suburb on Dec 3 resulted from the toxic effects of a mixture of drugs including cocaine and ecstasy with alcohol, and has been deemed an accident, a county medical examiner said last Friday.


Won Bin is a dad

Korean Wave star Won Bin and actress Lee Na Young have welcomed their first child, a son, their agency said last Saturday. The birth was announced seven months after Won, 38, wed Lee, 36, in a meadow in his hometown Jeongseon in Gangwon province. They denied rumours then that she was pregnant.


Minaj performs in Angola

American rapper Nicki Minaj ignored human-rights groups last Saturday and performed for several thousand people at a Christmas concert linked to the family of Angola's long-ruling President Jose Eduardo dos Santos. Before going on stage, she posted a photo of herself draped in the flag of Angola on Instagram. She is said to share a manager with singer Mariah Carey, who was criticised in 2013 for performing in Angola.
