Concert to fete 1 million Tidal subscribers

Rapper Jay Z's streaming music service Tidal on Wednesday announced a superstars' charity concert in New York to celebrate reaching one million subscribers, six months after it launched. He, his wife Beyonce, Prince, Usher and Nicki Minaj will headline the Oct 20 concert in Brooklyn. It will be streamed live for both subscribers and non-subscribers via tidal.com.


Amy Schumer sells book for $11 million

Rising comedian Amy Schumer has traded in a US$1 million (S$1.4 million) memoir deal for a much larger one, US$8 million from Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books. HarperCollins signed her up two years ago, when she was a promising standup comedian. After she received US$1 million, she made sporadic progress on the book, cancelled the contract and returned her advance.
