SWIFT TO STREAM 1989 ON APPLE MUSIC

Taylor Swift said on Thursday she would put her album 1989 on Apple Music, days after Apple did an about-face, agreeing to pay artists during a free trial of its new streaming music service. Apple on Monday bowed to pressure from Swift and independent music groups and labels after its decision of not paying artists created a furore. Swift said her decision was not because of any exclusive deal between her and Apple.

The Taiwan Campus Folk Songs Concert will be held at The Star Theatre on Aug 28. Tickets from $78 to $168 are available from Sistic. The Xinyao 33 Reunion Concert will be held at the same venue on Aug 29. Tickets from $68 to $138 are available from Sistic.

HBO POSTS NEW COMEDIES ON FACEBOOK

HBO posted the first episodes of its two newest comedy series on Facebook on Thursday, turning the social networking site into a new platform for television viewing. Ballers And The Brink will be available on Facebook "for a limited time" for free, HBO said.

The episodes can also be viewed on HBO Now and HBO Go, two streaming services that give the channel's fans an alternative to subscription cable options.
