LOS ANGELES - Actress Scarlett Johansson and French journalist Romain Dauriac have wed in Montana in the United States.

People magazine reported a clerk at Granite County, as confirming that they married on Oct 1 in Philipsburg, Montana.

The marriage came after news in early September of the birth of their first child, a daughter named Rose Dorothy.

A source told the New York Post: "They kept the wedding a big secret because they both wanted privacy."

Johansson, 30, is from New York City while Dauriac, 32, is from Paris. They have been together since 2012.

The actress married actor Ryan Reynolds, 38, in 2008. They announced their separation in December 2010 and divorced the year after.
