Beijing - In an escalating marital dispute, Overheard 3 actress Huang Yi has denied cheating on her husband and released photos as purported evidence that he hit her. However, businessman Huang Yiqing has rejected her allegations and accused her of faking her injuries.

In a statement released on Weibo on Monday, the actress' representatives rebutted a Next Magazine story last week that she met a tycoon in Hong Kong for a tryst, said NetEase website. The statement said she had a meeting with media mogul Bruno Wu and others to discuss a movie and added that Wu confirmed this on Weibo.

On the attack, the statement said she decided to separate from her husband last month, after he was physically violent towards her on three occasions. Once, in 2012, they had a violent dispute after she, six months pregnant with their daughter, discovered his "improper relationship" with another woman, the statement said.

In one of the photos posted with the statement, Huang Yi has two dents on her forehead. In another photo, red marks are visible on her forehead.

Mr Huang Yiqing, chairman of the Super Sports Car Club in Shanghai, disputed his estranged wife's story. He had slammed her online last week after the publication of the Next Magazine story, joined by her former husband, financial expert Jiang Kai, said Apple Daily.

She married and divorced Mr Jiang in 2009, before marrying Mr Huang in 2012. On Monday night, Mr Huang said his wife was lying. He wrote on Weibo that he had security footage showing he never "laid a hand on a woman".

As for the photos of his wife's alleged injuries, he said she probably pressed her forehead after getting a cosmetic injection.

Huang Yi, 34, has been in films including 2010's Ip Man: The Legend Is Born and 2012's Drug War. In 2003, she replaced Vicki Zhao as Little Swallow in the third instalment of television show My Fair Princess.
