NEW RESORT IN JAPAN
Earlier this month, the Aman luxury resort group opened Amanemu, a hot-spring resort in Shima, Japan, on the picturesque shores of Ago Bay 300km south-west of Tokyo. The resort is run by an okami, a female manager trained in the art of Japanese hospitality, in keeping with ryokan tradition.
The property includes a 2,000 sq m spa; fitness centre; Japanese water therapy suites; and a yoga studio.Guests will have access to Nemu Golf Club, an 18-hole championship course. Suites start from 109,836 yen (S$1,334) a night. Go to www.aman.com/resorts/amanemu.
