Objectifs Film Residency: Open Call

In this reciprocal four-week residency programme, Objectifs will host an Indian film-maker and Cinedarbaar, based in New Delhi, will host a Singapore film-maker in return. Applicants must be a director/scriptwriter/producer of at least two short films and the selection will be based on a portfolio and a project brief/proposal. Applications must be submitted by April 18.

Butterfly Books Launch & Waiting For Mamu Screening

At the launch of this series of six values-based children's books authored by the youth of The Early Childhood Development Centre, there will also be a screening of the documentary, Waiting For Mamu, which tells the story of what it means for a child to grow up in prison.

New Opera Singapore's Easter Concert - Stabat Mater

This presentation comprises two prayers - Geistliche Lieder, composed by Bach and realised by Britten; and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, sung by sopranos and altos. The prayer itself is a 13th-century Catholic hymn to Mary which portrays her suffering as Jesus Christ's mother during his crucifixion.

SSO Pops Concert: Makoto Ozone - Rhapsody In Blue

Japanese jazz pianist Makoto Ozone joins Joshua Tan and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for a concert featuring American composer George Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue. He will also perform Ravel's Concerto In G Major.

Conservatory Orchestra Series: Qin Li-Wei & Yang Yang: Barber & Rachmaninoff

Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music's associate professor Qin Li-Wei performs with the Conservatory Orchestra and Yang Yang, principal conductor of the China Philharmonic Orchestra and artistic director and chief conductor of the Hangzhou Philharmonic. Barber's Cello Concerto, a work composed during World War II, is coupled here with Rachmaninov's symphony from the beginning of the century.

Concert Series: Stabat Mater

Under the direction of maestro Lim Yau, the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Orchestra and Chorus presents Gioachino Rossini's Stabat Mater. Violinist Nattawat Luantampol is the soloist for Bela Bartok's Violin Rhapsody No. 1 and the concert opens with Rossini's William Tell Overture.

Shakespeare In Print: The First Folio Showcase

The showcase is of the first printed anthology of 36 of William Shakespeare's plays, many of which had never been printed before it was published as a folio in 1623. Without the first folio to preserve Shakespeare's works, plays such as Antony And Cleopatra, The Tempest and Macbeth might have been lost.
