Singapore STories: Then, Now, Tomorrow

As part of its 170th anniversary, The Straits Times has collaborated with ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands to present this exhibition that chronicles the nation's development through powerful images and stories. It features hundreds of The Straits Times' front-page stories, headlines and photographs that capture pivotal and piquant moments in Singapore's history. The newspaper has also unlocked its archive, which dates back to July 15, 1845, to showcase never-before-seen photographs.

The Tools That Built Singapore

This exhibition, supported by the SG50 Celebration Fund, showcases forgotten tools of the trades which were once prevalent in Singapore. These include the carpenter's hand saw, the hawker's air horn, the labourer's sack hook and the barber's pair of manual hair clippers. The travelling exhibition kicks off at the National Design Centre and heads to various public libraries around Singapore.
