IMPULSE - A BACKSTAGE SITE-SPECIFIC WORK

This original site-specific creation (above) by T.H.E Dance Company's resident choreographer Kim Jae Duk breaks free from the conventional stage to take place in the backstage areas of the Esplanade. The work will see dancers from the company respond to different elements in uncommon physical spaces.

CHINGLISH

This play (left) by award-winning Asian-American playwright David Henry Hwang looks at what is lost in communication when an American businessman goes to China to resurrect his sign-making business. The term "Chinglish" refers to the bizarre Chinese-to-English translations commonly seen in China.

The play is staged by Pangdemonium and the cast members include veteran television host Guo Liang, in his debut with the company, as well as seasoned actors Daniel Jenkins and Matt Grey.

PORTABLE ART WEEK

This group exhibition (left) of works by 17 Singapore artists includes paintings by Lee Wen, Boo Sze Yang and Milenko Prvacki as well as ceramic pieces by Delia Prvacki. The works are small enough that visitors who wish to take pieces home with them can do so easily. The works are priced from $1,000 to $8,000.

SG50@VCH: THE JOY OF MUSIC WITH KOH CHIENG MUN AND ANDREW LIM

This relaxed concert helmed by radio presenters Koh Chieng Mun (left) and Andrew Lim features Singaporean musicians from young performers to veterans. The programme includes pianist Low Shao Ying's composition Reflections For Clarinet, Horn And Piano and pianist Low Shao Suan's composition After Midnight For Tenor Trombone And Piano.
