It features more than 180 objects that were used and traded in seven port cities across Asia, such as Nagasaki, Batavia and Singapore. From Japanese robes made from Indian chintz (photo) to a 19th-century necklace made of French and Austro-Hungarian coins, these artefacts interrogate the fluidity of notions of tradition and culture.
