BROADWAY BENG: 10TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

Theatre actor Sebastian Tan returns as Broadway Beng (with director Selena Tan) in this rollicking revue, which celebrates the character's 10th year in show business. He will tackle works from Hokkien ditties to English oldies and a song written for him by getai star Hao Hao and composer Elaine Chan.

IN SILENCE BY PEARL LAM GALLERIES

The art exhibition's title is inspired by Nyepi, a day of silence, self-restraint and reflection that marks the Balinese New Year. It brings together contemporary works (photo) by eight artists that meditate on what that means today.

JAZZ IN JULY

Jazz guitarist Az Samad will present works from famous Malaysian composers such as P. Ramlee and Jimmy Boyle as well as music inspired by literary works written by his father, acclaimed Malaysian poet and novelist A. Samad Said. Az will reinterpret classic Malay jazz pieces into solo guitar renditions interspersed with readings of his father's poetry.

JOACHIM THEODORE LIM'S SOLO SHOW

Percussionist Joachim Theodore Lim, who is part of Singapore classical music-pop fusion quintet Lorong Boys, is holding his first solo showcase here. He will play seven pieces including works by German Baroque-era composer Johann Sebastian Bach and American Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Joseph Schwantner.
