THE SECOND SUNRISE
The erasure of culture, the search for freedom and people's feelings for their land are at the heart of this dance by dancer-choreographer Raka Maitra of Chowk Productions.
The work borrows from Odissi dance, an ancient Indian art form from Orissa, India, and the poems of Tamil poet Rudhramoorthy Cheran. The dance was commissioned by the Esplanade as part of its da:ns festival.

NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION - A SOLO EXHIBITION BY TAN CHOO KAI
This solo show by artist Tan Choo Kai, a retired art teacher, features landscapes from his travels around the world, as well as nearer to home. More than 30 paintings are on show, including scenic paintings of Pulau Ubin.

GTM @ CIVIC DISTRICT
As part of Got To Move, a nation wide campaign to promote dance by the National Arts Council, the civic district will come alive tomorrow with all manner of site-specific dance performances, a dance carnival featuring performances and workshops, and a mass dance.

MEOWS IN MUSEUM
The portrait of Mona Lisa by Russian artist Svetlana Petrova looks familiar until you spot the large, cuddly cat cradled in the sitter's arms and what might pass for Mount Fuji in the background. The tongue-in- cheek work is one of 20 paintings in a solo exhibition by Petrova which features her cat, named Zarathustra, in famous masterpieces by artists such as Van Gogh and Monet.
