Born in South Korea and adopted by Swiss parents at the age of one, Mr Yves Schmid, 45, grew up in Geneva and calls the lakeside city home.

He moved to Singapore in 2010 to work as a chef and founded Swiss restaurant Coucou in 2019 with two partners. His 30-year-old wife is South Korean and works at toymaker Lego.
