Fashion designer Leslie Chia ranks as one of the city's veteran tailors, but he still has new tricks up his perfectly tailored sleeve. The 52-year-old behind bespoke tailor PIMABS co-founded Closeknip in 2018, pioneering what he calls a hybrid system of ready-to-wear and made-to-measure suiting.
Unlike in bespoke tailoring which involves taking a client's exact measurements, Closeknip offers around 150 templated sizes. The size range takes into account the diversity of body shapes. For instance, some shirts have fits that flatter sloped shoulders, while others subtly address the curve of a man's chest.
