Esplanade's da:ns festival puts spotlight on home-grown dance-makers

SINGAPORE - Chowk Productions, a Singapore group known for its intimate, subtle explorations of classical-inspired contemporary dance, will soon do what artistic director Raka Maitra had long avoided - mount a show on a huge stage.

The 1,950-seat Esplanade Theatre will be the venue for her ensemble's experimental piece at the annual da:ns festival,back this year from Oct 8 to 17.
