MORE THAN 500 PEOPLE were seen jaywalking across Orchard Road in just half an hour last Wednesday. Jaywalkers can be fined $20 on the spot, and if charged and convicted in court, the fine can go up to $1,000 and they risk a jail term of up to three months too. -- ST PHOTO: WANG HUI FEN
