The North Korean medial released pictures of Mr Kim inspecting a military unit in mid-October. Experts pointed out that the background foliage was too green for autumn and that the pictures could have been taken several months earlier, well before the leader's suspected stroke in mid-August. -- PHOTO: ASSOCIATED PRESS

More pictures of Mr Kim, in a football stadium, were released on Sunday which showed his left thumb tucked into a jacket pocket. That, according to South Korean media, suggests Mr Kim may have suffered some paralysis on his left side as a result of a stroke. But neurologists say Mr Kim's smile looks natural, suggesting he does not have paralysis. -- PHOTO: AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE

In the latest photos released yesterday, Mr Kim stands firm, wearing sunglasses and an autumn coat. He appears to have lost little weight and has a full head of hair, though sources say he may have had brain surgery after the supposed stroke.
