Where people can donate food, unwanted items

Mr Jeffrey Law Lee Beng pointed out that some people desire to donate food and other items that can still be used, but do not know where they can do it (Make clear what items are suitable for donation; Feb 2).

There are a few places potential donors could turn to:

- For furniture, clothes, appliances that are still in good useable condition, they could approach Pass It On (www.passiton.org.sg) or The Salvation Army (www.salvationarmy.org/singapore).

- For food that has not been opened and has at least one month to expiry, they can go to The Food Bank Singapore (www.foodbank.sg) or Food from the Heart (www.foodheart.org).

I encourage potential donors to check with these centres beforehand to ensure that their items fit these centres' criteria.
