Lately, I have noticed many cars fitted with racks at the rear, which carry not just one but as many as three bicycles.

Doing so completely obscures the cars' registration plates.

Traffic cameras will definitely not be able to pick up the registration numbers of these vehicles, in the event of any infringement.

Also, witnesses will not be able to provide feedback to the authorities regarding such vehicles in an accident, should the drivers involved simply drive away.

The Land Transport Authority should make it compulsory for cars carrying bicycles to hang an additional registration plate on the bikes to facilitate identification.
