Time to clean up dirty scenes in cinemas

From 2014 to last year, there has been a 22 per cent increase in the number of man-hours spent clearing rubbish from cinemas here.

Is this a sign that more Singaporeans are becoming less socially conscious? What can be done to improve this situation?

Is it an issue with the availability of rubbish bins or a lack of public awareness that more and more rubbish is being left behind?

Cinemas need to send a strong message to moviegoers about this.

Perhaps there can be a reward scheme whereby people who throw away their rubbish can accumulate points and redeem them for movie vouchers.

Playing videos portraying the increase in rubbish and its impact can be shown prior to the movie as well.

Let us make small efforts to create a better Singapore.
