I hope the Singapore authorities can learn from Denmark and build similar nursing and retirement homes for our ageing population ("Bright ideas help seniors feel at home"; Dec 12).

We have been constantly told that there is a lack of space for such homes here. But how about using St John's Island, Kusu Island or even Pulau Ubin?

We need to start to plan for retirement homes.

I hope this can be seriously looked into so that seniors can live in comfort until the end of their days.
