The authorities should restrict the operation of waste-management trucks and bin collection on Orchard Road to the wee hours of the morning.

The foul smell from the operation of these trucks have pedestrians walking around with hands on their noses, or heads turning this way and that to try and escape the smell.

It made me recall the smell of the bucket toilet system in Singapore in the 1960s.

Sure, the job needs to be done but this is Orchard Road, our showcase street. We should do everything to preserve the image of this world famous shopping street.
