Other than being outraged after reading the Nov 29 report of an Uber driver being attacked by a Land Transport Authority (LTA) officer ("Spat at Bugis cab stand turns violent"), I'm keen to know the following:

1. Why is the LTA contracting enforcement services out to an external agency and how is the public assured that this external agency will uphold the values and standards of the LTA, which is expected of a regulator of transport operations and services?

2. Is the public informed that our government agencies and regulators are contracting external agencies to deal with enforcement tasks?

3. If it is a regular practice that government agencies and regulators are contracting external agencies to do some of their work, how are these external agencies managed?
