Public should donate to a fund to reward Paralympians

There has been a lot of discussion about how there should be more parity in how Olympians and Paralympians are rewarded.

President of the Disabled People's Association, Mr Nicholas Aw, has suggested having a consolidated funding scheme so that Paralympians can be rewarded in the same amount as Olympians ("Pool prize money for more parity among athletes"; Sept 17).

Instead of waiting for the Government or a body to work out a way to reward the Paralympians who have done Singapore proud, those who strongly believe that Paralympians Theresa Goh and Yip Pin Xiu should be rewarded as much as Olympian Joseph Schooling should put their money where their mouth is and donate to a fund, which Mr Aw could set up.
