PR status should be contingent on abiding by the law

I am perturbed to read that a permanent resident convicted and fined $12,050 in 2008 for selling fake goods was allowed to remain in Singapore to commit another counterfeit crime ("Caught with fakes, she got hubby to hide rest of stash"; Sept 29).

Perhaps permanent residents who have been convicted of a crime should have their PR status suspended or revoked.
