Offer S'poreans more union membership perks

I applaud the opening of the FairPrice Hub, which also consists of a training centre ("NTUC FairPrice a role model for social enterprises: PM"; Sept 17).

Many members of the public, especially the low to middle income, the elderly and students shop regularly at FairPrice supermarkets located island wide.

I hope that the NTUC FairPrice can provide more support and assistance to Singaporeans.

I noticed that NTUC membership is open to anyone above 16 years of age, except personnel from the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, auxiliary police bodies, foreign domestic workers and full-time students.

Perhaps Singaporean NTUC members could receive more rebates and discount privileges, not only at supermarkets and affiliated retail stores, but also at other places of attraction, as well as for courses.
