My neighbour and I often receive registered articles and parcels on each other's behalf ("Postman hands over registered item to neighbour" by Ms Hoe Jia Hui; Nov 26).
This saves us from having to make a trip to the post office later to collect a registered item, should we not be home when the postman made his delivery.
We help out whenever we hear the postman ringing the doorbell to an empty house.
I appreciate this flexibility and believe that as long as the items are traceable and not lost, this is a good arrangement and creates an opportunity to enhance ties between neighbours.
