More info panels needed at train platforms

During the train disruption of April 25, announcements were made over the public address system in the train stations to inform commuters of the situation.

However, many commuters were unable to hear the announcements clearly ("Lack of info more irksome than rail breakdown itself" by Ms Koh Shu Yi; April 27).

There was only one arrival information panel on each side of the train platform in many train stations along the East-West and North-South lines, impeding the dissemination of information.

Calls have previously been made for more arrival information panels to be put up on the boarding platforms of older train stations.

More panels should be added, as this will enhance communication and avert undue congestion around a single arrival information panel on the boarding platform.
