Missed opportunity to use all four official languages

THE TV broadcasts of the SEA Games were carried out only in English.

While I understand that during such a major event, it would be time-consuming to use all four of Singapore's official languages, attempts should have been made to include all four languages during the introduction of the victory ceremony and to introduce the national anthem of the winning country.

We pride ourselves on being a multiracial society, where we treat all four races and languages equally. Among the participating nations, quite a few are wrestling with problems involving minorities.

It would have been nice to showcase how we have succeeded as one nation, despite the fact that we have four official languages. Who knows? Among the many young participants, there may be a few who would succeed in the future to lead their countries.
