It's about an employer's kind gesture, not hidden subsidies

I hope the Ministry of Education (MOE) listens to its school staff and not implement its idea of charging for parking in schools ("MOE reviewing free school parking"; Jan 8).

Teachers are well-educated professionals and are doing their best in schools. They work tirelessly all day to inspire, to intrigue and to groom their students.

It is not about providing hidden subsidies for vehicle parking but the kind gesture and understanding of an employer.

The move, if implemented, risks dampening teachers' morale and will hinder them in excelling in their noble work.

Revenue collection should never be the main focus of our schools.

Do not measure everything in dollars and cents.
