We apologise for the inconvenience that Ms Juliana Ang Hiok Lian faced while lodging her report at the Clementi Neighbourhood Police Centre, and thank her for her support of our front-line officers ("IT systems must back up police's good work"; Forum Online, May 24).

There were some network connection problems at the computer terminal used by the attending police officers, arising from ongoing enhancements to our IT security systems.

We have since rectified the technical issue.

The police are committed to providing quality service to the public.

We have since contacted Ms Ang to explain the cause of the problem and thank her for her feedback.
