I wrote to SBS Transit recently about one of its buses running the red light. SBS Transit replied that it was unable to investigate the incident, as the bus was not equipped with external cameras.
I was surprised to learn that public buses are not equipped with external cameras.
Such cameras are essential in capturing evidence in an accident, to facilitate investigations.
Perhaps the authorities should make it compulsory for all public buses to have external cameras installed.
This is especially necessary in view of the many accidents involving public buses, some of which have been fatal, in the past few years.
