I echo Mr Ngian Kian Fah's views ("Don't forget role of foreign workers"; Aug 11).

It would be great if we had a contingent of foreign workers marching alongside our own at the National Day Parade, because both groups make things work, and both make things beautiful in our country.

This jubilee year is the year for forgiving debts. Perhaps we could make an individual effort to clear the debt of a foreign worker we know (or know of), as our way of thanking them for the blood, sweat, tears and broken lives that they endure to make our lives, and hopefully their own lives, better.
