Have regular police patrols in residential areas

On Nov 16, at about 7.30pm, my wife was making her way home opposite the Sengkang MRT Station when she saw a drunken man cursing loudly and walking towards her.

As the area was deserted, my wife got frightened and quickened her pace. The man went towards her and tried to block her way.

She took a detour and ran in the direction of some HDB blocks nearby, before she finally reached home.

The incident reinforces our feeling that there should be regular police patrols, especially in more deserted parts of some residential areas. We hardly see policemen or police cars in residential areas these days.

The police have to ensure safety not just within MRT stations, but outside these places as well.
