There have been reported cases where bank account funds were transferred to the wrong parties ("Legal to keep mistakenly wired funds?" by Ms Connie Cheong; July 13).

A possible solution would be for banks to offer a safe fund transfer option for a small fee.

The recipient would have to key in a numerical code before the transaction could be completed.

The transferrer could send this code to the recipient by SMS, private e-mail or through a phone call.
