Guests should not have to pay for wedding frills too

Couples should not expect their guests to finance their posh wedding banquets.

After all, the cost includes not just the dinner but the expensive frills as well.

Banquet providers offer the sky for that "once-in-a-lifetime experience" so long as they can add the costs in.

For the same banquet food, I reckon one would only have to pay about 60 per cent of the cost if there are no frills, such as two nights' stay in a suite thrown in.

I appeal to would-be wedding couples not to expect their guests to pay for the frills.
