I have noticed an increase in the number of anglers fishing illegally at the Sungei Punggol river.

These anglers blatantly ignore the signs located along the river which state that fishing is prohibited.

To make matters worse, these anglers often arrive at the river banks on their electric bicycles, which are banned at such parks.

While fishing, some of the anglers smoke without consideration, polluting the air which many have come to enjoy.

They also pose a danger to other park users when casting their fishing lines, due to the narrow width of the shared path.

I hope the authorities can step up enforcement action to ensure a clean and safe environment for park users and to protect wildlife in its natural habitat, which has been painstakingly created.
